Metaphoric Reasoning in Information Ethics

Is spoofing a MAC address to download thousands of articles the same as checking out all the books in the library or the same as breaking open a vault with a crowbar?

The metaphors we use for our interactions with technologies affect how we think about those interactions. That has implications for ethical reasoning and for media professionals. I discuss some of these implications in a piece hosted by the Center for International Media Ethics.
